Hello Four Corners Guides Friends,
New Offerings
- We partnered with Durango Rivertrippers to expand our course offerings (Hint: the Chama ). We’ll be sharing details soon!
- We’re running five Kid’s Summer Packrafting Camps July & August.
- We scheduled six no-frills courses, including various beginner courses, one intermediate and one advanced course. You’re on your own for food, transport and lodging. But you’ll still learn from some of the most skilled and experienced bike-packrafters in the world.
Our Mission Remains the Same
However, the bulk of our courses and our mission remain the same. For us, Scullbinder Ranch is as important a component of our offering as the actual courses we run. It’s remote, so you must unplug and disconnect from the outside world. It’s expansive, with three canyons emanating out three directions from our property. It’s quiet and calm, with the Mancos River flowing through it. And it’s equipped with 2.5 miles of biking trails, glamping tents, a cabin and a Main House, at which you will dine while watching the sun set over the red rock canyon cliffs of Mesa Verde NP.
We pride ourselves on offering you adventure opportunities that “get you on the edge of your own reality to feel things you’ve never experienced,” as Doom says. And we work hard to enhance your existing backcountry skills so you can do bigger and more exciting bike and packraft adventures, while at the same time pushing you just a bit further so you can “find out what you’re really made of.”
But more than that, we want to share with you the deep sense of enjoyment we find living in and utilizing human-powered tools to pass through remote landscapes. Together we will reconnect with our selves, new and old friends and the Southwest’s wild lands. We want your experience at the Ranch and on your course to be the milestone in your life that you measure everything else up to.
Best wishes,
Steve “Doom” Fassbinder & Lizzy Scully
