no more glamping at Scullbinder Ranch
Hey y’all,
It is with great sadness that I announce there will be no more home stays at Scullbinder Ranch. Steve and I are splitting up, and I will be moving closer to Mancos. We are amicable and Four Corners Guides will operate as usual.
I will continue to teach occasionally and do all the behind-the-scenes things to make the business run smoothly. Steve will keep the Ranch, but without the glamping tents/cabin and home stays. He will also continue to develop routes, provide stunning photos and co-lead our instructor team with me. Our awesome team includes: Thad Ferrell, Annie Bussell, Krista Beyer, Ben Phillips and Tyler Marlow.
We will soon wrap up our Colorado-based courses (end of June). Despite the low water levels, we had a very successful season with lots of happy packrafters. This weekend we have our final Level 3 course for the season. We actually got a crew out on the Upper Animas last weekend, a rare and special experience for a select few of our most experienced clients!
Please note, there are still some spots left on our Level 1 Foundations Course with Ben & Lizzy, June 20-22.
As well, we have a special packrafting expedition we’re running to the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park in Alaska, led by Steve and Tyler. It runs August 19-22. Register here! There are two spots left.
Finally, we have a full roster of courses this September and October, including bikepacking in the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Park and Bikerafting-Backpacking Dark Canyon Oct 14-18, with Steve & Thad. Plus, Level 1 and 2 packrafting courses, and our final Swfitwater Safety course of the season with Steve and Annie, October 9-11. Sign up here.
And check out snippets from Annie and Steve’s instructor trainer course in Gunnison in early May on our Instagram page.
We’ll announce most of our 2027 schedule in August, though we have a few courses up already, including two brand new Level 2 to 2+ courses in Jalcomulco, Veracruz, home of the first ever Mexican Packraft RoundUp (it’s happening again this year February 11-15). Learn new packrafting skills, or explore some exciting Class III+ (++)
- January 10-16, 2027: Level 2+/3, Packraft Mastery
- January 25-29: Level 2 Packraft Essentials
