3.5-Day Bike Packraft Course on the Colorado River, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area
Course
Spend 3.5 days on this Bike & Packraft Instructional course on the Colorado River. This trip will be held entirely in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. This is a beginner-intermediate course, so we recommend you have some boating experience, whether on a kayak, ducky, canoe or packraft. If you don’t, we recommend you sign up for a single- or multi-day packraft training with Doom prior to the trip. Or, ask us for recommendations on other guide services or instructors who might be able to train you closer to your home. You will also need to know how to ride a bike and camp in the backcountry.
Details
There is one exciting Class II rapid on this course that you will need to navigate. You’ll be on the Colorado River for the first 10 or so miles, but then on Lake Powell. The round trip is 50 to 60 miles (we have some options for additional mileage for really motivated guests). You’ll meet your guide on Thursday late afternoon to camp, have dinner and make plans, pack up and get ready for the course. Read more on our Bikerating Courses page.
Price: $1350, includes all permits, camping, GCNRA fees, food starting Friday night through Sunday late afternoon (snacks, dehydrated breakfasts and dinners, lunches, coffee/tea, plus fresh dinner and breakfast on night one and morning one).
